Steve Jennings Winning Trip to Tom Rae Lodge
Our trip to Tom Rae Lodge was enjoyable and very relaxing. My wife,
Michelle, our 15-year-old son, Tyler and his buddy, Steve Chiarizia and
myself enjoyed our stay.

There are seven (7) cottages to choose from and all are very clean and
well situated to overlook Lake Nipissing. You cannot beat the sunsets.
Everything you would need for a week long get-a-way is supplied for you,
like dishes, pots and pans, microwave, patio chairs, bedding, pillows. The
cottages are fully furnished all you need to bring is your clothes and food.
Each cottage comes with a boat and motor. There are also kayaks, canoes and paddleboats available to the
guests. The fishing was great. We are not the most experienced fishermen and we still did very well with the
bass, mostly 3 ½ pounders. Those small mouth bass put up a great fight. It helped that Dan Negrinotti, Manager,
fishes the lake himself and supplies you with a detailed map of the better fishing spots. He can also help you
with lures and baits.
Tom Rae Lodge is also a nice place to go if you’re not into
fishing, but enjoy peaceful surroundings. They have a
heated in ground pool and a Jacuzzi or you can just cruise
the lake with one of the Tom Rae Lodge motorboats. The
Lodge has a game room complete with a ping-pong table,
video game system and a library of books and movies. We
had some good ping pong matches! My wife was pleasantly
surprised and very impressed with the whole place. She
spent a lot of her time sitting on the docks in a cozy
Adirondack chair catching up on her reading while listening
to the loons—a much needed down time from her busy
office life. This was a good time for all of us. We hope to
make this an annual trip just as many of Tom Rae Lodge’s
guests do. We want to thank Dan Negrinotti for helping with
our fishing success. We also want to thank New York
Outdoorsman Central for offering trips like this. Without
them we would never have found this beautiful new
vacation spot.
