| Horwood Lake Lodge After a long and beautiful drive we arrived at the lodge late Saturday evening. My 8yr old son Anthony, brother Cy and I were immediately greeted by Joe and Gary. They welcomed us and showed us to our lakeside cabin. The cabins were beautiful with a large picture window to view the lake. There were 2 bedrooms in our cabin with a kitchen, small living area, bathroom with a shower. Before breakfast the next day we bought our licenses and were assigned our boat. The boats were great. Included was a live well, storage compartment, net, 20hp - 4 stroke engine, and swivel seats. It made for the fishing very comfortable and easy. One thing I must add that if you are on the American Plan you will love the meals. All meals were fantastic with a lunch in a cooler ready for you each morning. DON’T get this plan if you want to lose weight!!! During our week stay at the lake we caught numerous walleye & northern pike even though the weather didn’t cooperate most days. Some huge fish were taken by many of the guests at the lodge. Most important for me that my son had a good time and he did. He caught the biggest walleye and northern in his life. Gary put him on the website and he was so proud he phoned people to view it when we arrived home. To sum up the trip, I would have to say that the people, the accommodations, the fish, the location, and the food were second to none. I would recommend this to my fellow sportsman!
