Mike Pongracz Wins a Fishing trip to Horwood Lake Lodge |
Hi Dan, just got back from Horwood Lake Lodge last night, and here's how the trip went. Upon Arriving at the Lodge
at 6:30 pm on Saturday September 6th, My fishing buddy Jay Hedgecock and I were greeted by Joe Richter ( the
Owner). We were just in time for the evening meal, which was Steaks on the grill, and might I add, that they melted in
your mouth. After dinner, Joe showed us to our Cabin, and we settled in after a long 12 hour drive, and a fantastic
meal..The Cabins are quite cozy, and Jay and I slept like babies all week long..The next morning were got up and had
a wonderful breakfast of our choice, and then got situated with are brand new 16ft boat, and 20 hp motor.

We were given live minnows, and worms all week as we needed
them, and the minnow buckets as well..Everything that was needed
for fishing out of a boat, was supplied by the Lodge, including a
net, life preservers, safety boat kit, anchor, gas, fish finder, and
oars..The only thing we had to supply, was our own tackle and
rods..Marty would make sure the boats were filled with gas every
morning, and that we had plenty of bait..His wonderful wife Shirley
would pack us a lunch for the days fishing trip, and we would head
out on the Lake after breakfast, and fish all day, till supper was
ready at 6pm. The Meals were excellent, the Desserts were to die
for, and the service that Joe,s staff represented to Jay and Myself,
was superb.

The fishing was great, Jay and I both caught plenty of Walleyes, and
Northern Pike. The Lodge supplied Ice as needed, and Bill cleaned
any fish that were brought in..This was a Fantastic week, and I
would recommend Horwood Lake Lodge to anyone who wants to
have a wonderful week of fishing, with excellent meals and service,
to anyone of our fellow members...I also want to say, that without
Myself and Jay being members of NY Outdoorsman Central, and Me
winning this trip, we would have both missed out on a wonderful
experience..I would like to thank Joe, and Marty, and Shirley and
Bill for showing us a wonderful time, and a great week.
