Dandy Eyes Charter Trip

Here is the story of our trip:

Saturday July 24,2010

It's 4:30 am and I'm waiting for my brother Kurt Knight from Michigan
to pick me up to go on a all day chartered fishing trip with
DANDYEYES CHARTERS,that he won in a free drawing with USOC.
We are on are way to meet Terry Kinney (TK.) and his son Justin,
they will be joining Kurt and I on our all day charter.

We arrive at the dock in Pultneyville, near Williamson NY and are
greeted by Capt.Jerry Snyder. We grab all of our gear and coolers
(food and drink) and board Jerrys 31" BAHA Cruiser. As we make
our way out of the marina Jerry is going over all the safety concerns
of the vessel, like locating the stress alarms, safety rope, life jacket
locations, incase of an emergency. With all that safety stuff out of
the way,Jerrys firstmate April starts to plot out our destination as
Jerry makes his way to the back of the boat to start rigging the
poles and downriggers.

It wasn't but 10 minutes and we had our first release.Justin took the
pole from Jerry and battled the first fish a nice 7 lb. Brown trout.
Soon after it was Kurts turn at the pole.He caught a nice 6or 7 lb.
Brown as well. Shortly after we started to mark a lot of bait fish and
fish a like.It was TKs turn to bat as the fish continued their feeding
frenzy of sort.He didn't disappoint us either, as he boated a nice
9lb. brown.the morning was getting along pretty well as we were
enjoying the good action and good conversation. Well guess
what??  Yep!!! it was my turn to do battle. I took the pole and
attempted to bring my first fish to the boat.It was obvious from the
start that this fish was a big fish as it acted much different from the
browns that my partners boated. It was diving , running
right, left, down.I was greeted with two tail dancing episodes, when
just after the 2nd the fish made a dash at the boat as I tried to reel
in all the slack. All of a sudden "pop" and the fish was gone I looked
back a little embarrassed I must admit that the fish broke me off.  I
turned and immediatley looked at Jerry and blamed him and his
equipment. to which he quipped " that was just a rookie mistake".
We all laughed and poked fun and laughed some more. we had
some terrific action most of the day.
Then the lake became almost too calm, and the skies looked like
they were going to open up, so we turned for home as we were at
the end of our trip anyway. Just as we were attempting to get
ourselves turned around the skies cleared as fast as they had
become nasty looking. It got very hot and muggy as we trolled our
way back to the marina.
We hooked up with 4 small kings and a other nice brown to finish off
the very exciting day on Lake Ontario. I would like to Thank Jim and
Dan @USOC, for affording our group the chance to go on this
fishing trip. We not only had a great day of laughs and excitement,
we got a chance to meet 2 new friends(Jerry&April). They make a
great duo. I would like to personally thank them for their hospitality
and a great time with them on July 24Th.
We're already planning our next trip.Jerry  has 1/2 day, full day or
evening trips available. His phone #315-589-4103 Dandyeyes
