| Trip Winner Tom Hearst from Wilkes-Barre PA shows off with the fish they caught aboard the Dandyeyes Charter with Captain Jerry Snyder on 2009 Trip |
| Saturday morning July 18th on Lake Ontario with Captain Jerry Snyder, the weather was nice but the water was a bit choppy. Captain Jerry led us to the right spot where he knew nobody entered into the tournament that day would fish so we could enjoy the day without any interruption. An hour went by and the captain decided to change the lures since we weren't getting any bites when he realized there was a fish on. He handed me the rod and I began to reel it in. When we got it in the boat I was proud of my 18 inch fish when he said, "Oh thats just a baby!" and tossed it back. We all laughed because where we come from that's a pretty big fish. As the day went on, and the waters calmed down a bit, the fish started hitting. From 8 pounders to 21 pounders and 18 inches to 36 1/2 inches, we realized what he meant by "a baby." I can't thank Captain Jerry Snyder of Dandy Eyes enough. Words can't explain the experience we had and It will be a day we will never forget. We came home with over 70 pounds of fish, but the hospitality of the people and the friends we made was worth more than that. I've taken a lot of charters both fresh water and salt water but Captain Jerry was the most professional and fun charter I have ever been on and I can't wait to get back up there again and I'm telling all of my friends he is the real deal and a sure bet for a great day or two on Lake Ontario! The local businesses are top shelf and a lot of fun with great food and the lodging was more than adequate. I'd also like to take a moment to thank Jim and Dan from US Outdoorsman Central for the tireless efforts they put in to this exciting program promoting fishing and hunting and for picking my name for this great trip I will always cherish.
