| Yes Bay Lodge Trip |
his hunting and fishing friend meet us there. Don has a lot great pictures we will always have to remember this great trip. Don held the record for King Salmon for one day! It was an experience of a life time! The weather was good, usual amount of rain. The guide was full of information, his knowledge of the area was good. The fishing was a little slow and we only caught one Salmon each day over the three days. Don's salmon was the biggest of the year.......for a day. I think it was in the area of 35 pounds. It was broken the next day. Don also caught a 43 pound Halibut which was the only one caught while there. The food was definitely top notch. The accommodations were very comfortable. Dungeness Crab and Spotted Prawns thrive in their cold and clean water in and around Yes Bay. The guides will help you set out a pot and haul in crab and shrimp for lunch or dinner. As far as the lodges location.........it doesn't get any better than Yes Bay Lodge. It was at least 35 miles away from any building, roads or camps. PS There are lots of great pictures on the Yes Bay Lodge web site that our fellow USOC members can look at to see the beauty of this Lodge and if they are considering a trip to Alaska, we recommend them, highly! We hope to get back there in the near future, Don wants that record back! Roland Wager |
