U.S. Outdoorsman Central/ Hunting Gear/Fisihing Gear/FREE
April 23, 2011 was a wet, cold, windy and very over-cast morning, but we were anxious to get out on the boat and
try our luck at some fishing.  Having never done a charter like this in the past, we really weren’t sure what to expect, but
now all I can say is….”Wow, what a blast, and I will definitely be meeting up with Captain Dave Wilson again in the future
for more charters…..”
As I said, the weather was terrible from the start, the power went out that night, and both of us going on the trip over-slept
because of the alarm clocks being out.  We were flying all the way up to Oswego, hoping to make it in time.  With the way
the morning had started off, I really wasn’t sure what to expect from the fishing.  Boy, were we in for a treat though.
Captain Dave was great to deal with both in setting up the trip, and in working with us on the boat.  Both Captain Dave
and his First Mate Bobby not only showed us what to do, but they also explained what and why we were doing certain
things, which made the experience even better.
The fish weren’t very active at first, as Captain Dave slowly worked his boat along the coast of the lake.  He had told us
that due to all the cold rainy weather they had been having lately, the fish were in very shallow waters trying to stay
warmer.  When the first fish bit, and I started to reel it in, he came off the hook.  I was afraid that was going to be the start
of a very long day.  But, then they started biting a lot more often.  We weren’t able to land every fish that bit on, but it was
fun just fighting with them like that.  We both ended up catching our limit, and had an absolute great time.
While we were on the boat, we were texting pictures of the fish we were catching to a couple of our friends that were
supposed to go on the trip with us, but that had backed out  at the last minute due to work.   Needless to say, they were
very envious of the fish we caught, and the great time we had.
Captain Dave Wilson and his First Mate Bobby were top notch guides, and I would highly recommend their charters to
everyone.  I would like to give another big thanks to both of them, and to Dan and Jim, and everyone that is a part of US
Outdoorsman Central.  Before this, I never would have gone on a chartered fishing trip on my own, but now I know that I
will be going on more of these charters in the future.  We had so much fun, and my wife and daughters all absolutely
loved the trout that we caught.
Thanks again USOC, and if you are looking for a great fishing trip, please give Captain Dave Wilson a call.
